“Banana Bread” Overnight Oats

Busy mornings and active afternoons call for meals that are both comforting and easy to serve. These Banana Bread Overnight Oats bring the cozy flavour of fresh-baked banana bread in a creamy, wholesome jar. Prepared the night before, they’re ready for an effortless breakfast or a nourishing snack to keep children fueled and focused during the day.

You’ll need:

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed

  • ½ cup rolled oats

  • ½ cup milk (cow’s or fortified plant-based alternative)

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • Optional: ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Mash the banana in a small jar or container until smooth.

  2. Stir in oats, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla until well combined.

  3. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or at least 4 hours) to soften and thicken.

  4. In the morning (or before serving as a snack), give it a stir and top with a few extra banana slices if you like.

Why we love it:

  • Naturally sweet with no added sugar

  • Creamy texture and comforting, familiar flavours

  • Prepped the night before for effortless mornings or easy snack times

  • A simple way to introduce whole grains and fibre

Tip: For younger children, stir in a little extra milk before serving to make the oats creamier and easier to eat.
